The compact automated visual inspection radio assist (VIRA) for radiopharmaceuticals combines Von Gahlen’s expertise in hot cell manufacturing, radiation shielding and GMP-compliant radiopharmaceutical production, powered by LUO’s patented visual inspection technology, a proven platform implemented and validated in GMP-regulated environments.

Together, these technologies deliver a compact, fully integrated solution that supports the stringent quality requirements of GMP Annex 1.

Using controlled vial rotation under multiple lighting conditions, the system automatically performs the entire visual inspection process, including visible particles, cosmetic defects, cap integrity issues, and fill level checks, ensuring consistent and reproducible inspection results.

Seamless integration of visual inspection

The automatic dose dividers (OVDD or CVDD) and the visual inspection system (VIRA) are seamlessly integrated within the dispensing hot cell (DPB) providing a GMP Class A environment for aseptic filling, optimizing your daily working progress and production speed.

Radiopharmaceuticals must be manufactured in strictly controlled sterile environments. Each final product must undergo 100% visual inspection for particles and defects.
