At Von Gahlen, we believe that how we work is just as important as what we build. Our strength lies in a controlled, step-by-step approach that delivers predictable, efficient, and worry-free on-site results. The V-model forms the foundation of this approach: a methodology that brings structure to every phase of the project, from the initial requirements to final delivery.
The V-model visualizes the development of systems or installations as a V-shaped process: on the left, we converge from wishes and requirements toward a concrete design; at the bottom, the product is realized; and on the right, we diverge upward again through verification and validation of every phase. Each step on the left corresponds to a validation step on the right.
The result? Fewer risks, greater transparency, better oversight, and full alignment between your expectations and our final delivery.
The V-model is a methodology that visualizes the development of systems or installations as a V-shaped process:
Below is a visual representation of the V-model.
We continuously verify whether the execution aligns with the design and the agreed requirements. This approach ensures that we do not wait until the very end to determine whether a system works correctly; instead, every intermediate step is continuously assessed against the original project agreements.
In daily practice, working with the V-model provides the following advantages for you as a customer:
Before the design phase begins, we work together to define all requirements, specifications and boundary conditions in detail. This prevents misunderstandings and ambiguity later in the process.
Based on your User Requirements Specification (URS), as well as technical and practical feasibility, we deliver a well-thought-out design. During the design freeze (DQ), the design is formally approved, ensuring both the client and the contractor clearly understand the agreed scope before the next phase starts.
As soon as a design phase is completed, verification with you follows immediately. Examples include Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), where you can see and test the product in real-life conditions before it is shipped to the site.
Project management oversees the entire process, from requirements and design to installation, validation, delivery, and aftercare. Our own installation engineers do not leave the site until the system has been fully tested, approved and successfully delivered.
With the V-model, the process is not one-way communication, but a shared responsibility with active involvement throughout the entire project. Your input defines the initial requirements; our expertise translates them into technical solutions. Along the way, we continuously verify that what we have built still meets the requirements and adjust where necessary.
We see the V-model as the core of how Von Gahlen operates: transparent, structured, and focused on preventing miscommunication. This aligns perfectly with our vision of long-term partnerships, not only during the project itself, but also afterward as your partner for service, maintenance and future expansions.
The V-model brings structure to complex projects. That is why we invite you to discuss your requirements regarding cleanroom facilities, technical specifications or questions related to radiopharmaceutical installations with us.
